A full bolt is approximately 14” wide (width of a traditional Japanese loom) by 11-12 yards long. The pattern is woven into this fabric which is ever so slightly transparant. Was sold to me as Wool, but may have silk and/or nylon as well, as the hand is both crisp and very smooth. Japanese fabrics for summer kimono are often very sheer and crisp, so that the fabric stands away from the body, and breathes, rather than clinging to the body in the humidity.
